Ken & Andrea Hider, members of the JDCSA, have kindly invited us to visit their home town of Riverton in the mid north on Sunday 2nd November.
We will meet at the OTR Service Station, Port Wakefield Road, Bolivar at 9:00am for a 9:15am departure on the Horrocks Highway to Riverton. A run sheet will be available at the OTR to show the way and the proposed itinerary is as follows:
10:00am - Arrival at the Riverton Railway Station for a tour, which includes an eclectic collection of vehicles. Ivor is the owner of the Railway Station.
12:00pm - Arrival at the Central Hotel for a leisurely three-course lunch, which includes gluten-free dishes. The cost of your meal is $40.00 per person and is to be paid to the hotel staff on the day.
2:00-3:00pm - Visit to Robert and Alison Mitchell Hannaford’s Gallery, directly across from the Hotel. Robert and Alison are well known artists in South Australia.
We will also have an information sheet for you to read relating to the political assassination that occurred on 22nd March, 1921 at Riverton.
All places are within a minute or two walking distance from each other, so please come along and enjoy interacting with other members and the townfolk of Riverton.
Please note that registrations will close on Wednesday 29th October.
