(YOU DO NOT NEED TO PRINT YOUR TICKET)
Dear All,
Sorry about the short notice but due to all the motoring activity in October I was initially not planning to have a get together this month.
Alan Baker has invited us to his garage to see firsthand the progress he has made on the construction of his D-type replica.
Just a short intro to this car – why will Alan’s car be painted blue – you will need to ask him! But, be aware that a non-works Jaguar D-type won the 1956 Le Mans 24 hour race. The winning team was Écurie Écosse (French for "Scotland Stable"), a motor racing team from Edinburgh, Scotland. The team was founded in November 1951 by Edinburgh businessman and racing driver David Murray and mechanic Wilkie Wilkinson. Its most notable achievement was winning the 1956 and the 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans.
On 13 October 1956, Jaguar announced the company’s withdrawal from racing. But not forever!
Tickets are limited to 25 persons due to the room available in Alan’s garage – so get your tickets now.
Regards,
