Barossa Run – Event Summary 12/10/26

An excellent day out, with 11 Jaguars making the run to the Barossa. A big thank you to Chris Hatcher for organising the main driving loop through the Barossa and sharing his local knowledge.

Four cars were unable to attend at the last minute, which is always to be expected. One car did make it to the starting point but, unfortunately, the vehicle was not sounding its best decided not to continue.

Lunch at Salters Kitchen was good, with excellent shared platters offering value at  reduced $60 per person. However, the lunch arrangements had changed from the expected à la carte menu to shared platters, and I was not aware of this change until we arrived. For future events, I will personally confirm the final arrangements with the venue to ensure clear.

The weather was kind to us for most of the day, although a storm moved in during the afternoon after lunch. It may have caught many members on their return journey, but everyone made it home safely.

Had tried loading route in to google maps thinking people could follow on phone – most though ran off of manual maps or just entered locations into own Sat Nav that went a different route.

Overall, a very enjoyable day of good driving, good company on Barossa run.

Starting from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Hindmarsh, we will make our way to Tanunda before enjoying a leisurely run through some of the Barossa Valley's best roads and vineyard scenery.

We will finish the run with lunch at Salters Kitchen, Saltram Winery

(note change of lunch venue – issue with previous)

A run sheet with the detailed route and directions will be handed out on the morning.

Run Sheet Outline

·       9:15 am – Meet at the front of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre

·       9:30 am – Depart
Direct route via South Road → M2 → Gomersal Road → Tanunda

·       10:45 am – Arrive at Barossa Valley Chocolate Company
Coffee stop and browse

·      11:30 am – Depart for a scenic run through the Barossa Valley, with Chris Hatcher leading us through some of the valley's sights.

·      Complete scenic run / make our way to lunch

·      1:00 pm – Lunch at Salters Kitchen, Saltram Winery

After lunch – Make your own way home.
